Another Groundbreaking Innovation from CAP™
Composite Access Products (CAP™) is a leader in creating innovative infrastructure solutions, known for durable and reliable composite manhole covers. With the new Halo™ top riser ring system, CAP™ brings the same advantages of their manhole covers to a new problem in road maintenance. The Halo™ makes it easier to raise manhole covers during repaving, adding value to CAP™’s products for the future.h
So Easy, It’s Almost A Miracle
Every 5 to 10 years, municipalities across the country have to repave their busy roads. When this happens, manhole covers must be elevated, which means digging, lifting, hauling, replacing, curing, and waiting all while redirecting traffic. The Halo™ eliminates the need for ALL of that.
How It Works
The Halo™ riser ring installs in just minutes, cutting down on road closures and manpower so you can get the job done faster.
Prepare and Install the Frame Extender
Install the alignment brackets into the bottom of the frame extender. Place the extender on the existing manhole frame and align the bolt holes with the stars on the frame.
Mark and Drill the Holes
Use the center punch tool to mark the first drill location. Remove the extender, cover the existing holes with painter’s tape, and drill a 3/8” pilot hole. Expand the hole using a 14mm bit and clean out any debris.
Install the Threaded Inserts
Attach the installation bit to the drill and the self-tapping threaded insert to the bit. Apply epoxy to the external threads of the insert and install it into the drilled hole. Repeat the drilling and insert installation for the remaining three holes.
Fasten the Frame Extender
Clean off all debris, remove the painter’s tape, and place the frame extender back on the manhole frame. Align it and bolt it down securely.

Install the Shim
Place the shim inside the frame, aligning the arrows on the shim with the arrows on the frame extender. Bolt the shim down.

Finalize with Cover and Extenders
Insert the manhole cover, align it, and bolt it down. If necessary, repeat the process to add a second extender and shim. Once aligned, bolt down the final shim and manhole cover.
Out with the Old, In with the Obvious Choice
Ask yourself: would you rather waste time, money, and manpower doing repavings the way you always have or set a new standard for road maintenance projects?
